MICROBAN TECHNOLOGY
As an exclusive partner of Microban®, the global leader in built-in antimicrobial product protection, Armacell is the first manufacturer to present a highly flexible insulation material which provides additional protection against harmful bacteria, mould and mildew. The antimicrobially-active additives are built into specific ArmaFlex® products around the world at the manufacturing stage, which disrupt the cell growth of micro-organisms and permanently prevents bacteria, mould and mildew settling on the elastomeric insulation material.

To tackle this, we infuse Microban technology into specific ArmaFlex® insulation products during the manufacturing process - the Microban® additive penetrates the cell wall of the microorganism, disabling its ability to grow and reproduce.
Because Microban technology is built into the product, it works continuously to provide an added level of protection to keep the insulation cleaner for longer, and it never washes off or wears away so the antimicrobial protection lasts for the lifetime of the insulation.

Microban technology provides an added level of protection against damaging mould growth to a product line that is already designed to minimise the potential for mould and mildew. The closed-cell foam structure of our material prevents the wicking of moisture — further reducing the likelihood of mould growth. In addition, the materials have always been 100 percent fibre-free and formaldehyde-free.
